Every year I try to be original in my plans to choose the perfect vacation for my family and myself, and this year would turn out to be better than the rest. This year I decided to find the best and settled on a luxurious resort on the Gulf coast. After doing a little research I determined that the Hope Island resort, located Just south of Brisbane would be ideal for all of us to enjoy.

As we checked in through guest facilities, I could not help but observe the professional and yet friendly manner that the staff portrayed to us. We were given the VIP treatment and shown to a suite that would impress even the pickiest of guests. Although we knew ahead of time that this facility would compare to many five star hotels, the fact that the kitchenette had all the latest appliances would definitely be a plus to us.

It was relatively late after checking in, so any plans to see the sights would have to wait until the next day. After a hearty breakfast at one of the local eateries it was all about getting in a round of golf before the weather got too hot. While my son and myself headed to accomplish our first nine holes, my wife and daughter headed for the nearby shopping centre to see what the locals were offering.

This vacation was to be a little more elaborate than usual, especially since it was our 14 year anniversary. Although we had the ability to cook at the resort, tonight it was all about choosing the right place to have dinner and with so many options available, it could take awhile. We finally agreed on an award winning seafood restaurant which did not disappoint, especially after we advised them about what our special celebrating.

After dinner, we dropped the kids back to the resort and decided to head for some private time to mark the occasion. Even though we were on vacation, getting a workout was important to us, so we made arrangements the next day for our kids to hang out at the beach lagoon pool, as we headed for the Gymnasium. After our workout and some time in the steam room, we were ready for anything the evening had to offer.

The week went by quickly and before we knew it, it was time to prepare ourself for our return home. Needless to say, the entire family had a great time at the Hope Island resort, in fact we had so much fun that we were already thinking ahead to our next vacation. I guess it won’t be difficult to persuade this bunch to return, especially since I already booked again for next year.

Business Trips to Melbourne
Many years ago I made trips to Melbourne Australia. On my first visits I was not happy with the hotels Melbourne had available. After two trips I stayed in a new hotel. It was the Hyatt on Collins. If the Internet had existed at that time I would have been quite happy to look up www.punthill.com.au and let one of their excellent apartment hotels. Looking at their website I believe my choice would have been at Flinders Lane. That would have saved me money, as the Hyatt was certainly not inexpensive, although it is a really great hotel.

Driving in Melbourne
Melbourne is one amazing city. There is one complaint that I have, which you may find rather amusing. Being an American I am used to driving on the right side of the street. However, no worries, my Aussie friends told me to just remember and keep the center line next to me at all times, especially when turning.

Okay, fair enough but the problem is, that advice almost got me killed on the streets of Melbourne. In any other country in the world, that I have been in, if you want to turn across traffic, to either the left or right – depending on what side of the street they drive on in that country – you approach the traffic light, wait for the light to be green and then cautiously make your turn. That is not how to make a turn in Melbourne.

In Melbourne you come to the intersection and rather than waiting in the right lane to turn, you pull to the far left lane and stop. Then when the light turns red you pull out and turn to the right across all lanes of traffic. Well I did it the way I was used to. To my total shock, as I turned the back end of my car was struck by a Melbourne trolley bearing down the tracks inlaid in the center of the street. Obviously, I survived and gave the rental company a piece of my mind for not having any warning notices about such a significant difference in traffic rules for the benefit of visitors.

Hotels Melbourne Style
Later that night the young lady who represented our company in Melbourne showed me many great sites of Melbourne. We had fish and chips near the port and ate Greek specialties in the food court at the Hyatt on Collins. We spent one entire evening enjoying a half bottle of amazing Port wine in a coffee house near the Hyatt. I went back many times and enjoyed the food and friendly people of Melbourne every time.

Whenever you go on holiday it is tempting to forget about spending out on your holiday insurance. Most people who are heading out on holiday these days have scraped the money together to be able to afford to go at all, so having to spend another handful of money on something that you might not even need can be quite difficult at times, but you do unfortunately have to consider the worst that could happen, and when you do that, you soon realise that it is vitally important that you have a good travel insurance policy before you travel.

If anything happens to you when you are abroad, then you are likely to have to get medical treatment. You may be covered by our own NHS services despite being abroad, but you won’t be able to get prescriptions, and you will also have to pay for your transport to the hospital to, which can obviously cost you a fortune depending on where you are.

There’s no sense in leaving all of this to fate when you can get some great travel insurance policies on the net. The best approach is simply to search for cheap travel insurance and you should come up with some great options. Just make sure you choose a company with a good name and a good reputation, because the last thing you want is to be in a position where you have to call upon your policy, only to find out that the company you have insured through are less than reliable.

If you want to visit Australia, you may feel that you have to save up an enormous amount of money, but it has to be said that you don’t always need a bucketful of money to be able to get to the other side of the world.

If you look online you should be able to save money on every aspect of your trip down under. Firstly of all, if you search for accommodation you should be able to find some affordable places in Australia that are right up your alley. You obviously need to search specifically for the place where you want to stay, but if you search for something like budget accommodation in Brisbane if that happens to be where you are staying, you should be able to find something that you can afford.

The same applies to finding the cheapest flights. If you go online and search for cheap flights, you will find them, and again, it is all about searching for the flights you want. As well as this though, you can do yourself a big favour by finding a company that is able to offer great deals time after time so that you can be confident that you are getting a great deal when you book through them. A good company that always has great deals is Cheapflights, which is easy to find online. If you are going to Australia though you will need to target that place on their site. All you need to look for is http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/Australia and you should go direct to all of their best offers for their destinations in Australia.

If you are planning a holiday at the moment, it would be wise for you to really take your time when it comes to finding the right travel insurance. These days the difference in price can be significant from one company to the other, and there are some situations that you really have to be on the lookout for.

Firstly of all, if you are booking a package holiday, it is probably a good idea for you to have a real look around for your own deal, rather than taking insurance that is offered to you along with the holiday. This is because whoever you are booking the holiday through would normally try to make a little extra on top of their commission which will mean that you end up paying over the odds for your insurance.

The other thing to remember, is that things can actually go wrong when you are on holiday, and it is not just a case of getting yourself covered for the sake of it. If you have a problem and your insurance policy is not very good, then you are going to end up regretting it, and if you go and nothing goes wrong, then you may spend some of your holiday worrying about the fact that your insurance is not that great! You are far better off having decent insurance in the first place so you don’t have to worry about it.

A good company to try is http://www.endlseigh.co.uk. you will find that they have an array of different travel insurance options, covering you no matter what you are doing. There are always options in terms of the cover you receive, so you should find something that suits your budget.

Munich is one of the most famous places in Germany, and it can be a wonderful place to visit. Maybe not quite as famous as Berlin, Munich still has plenty to offer the tourist, and many Germans might argue that Munich is the more German of the two different cities. Munich seamlessly blends wealthy business people with twenty four hour party people in this city of contradictions. The architecture in Munich is second to none in Germany, and the same can be said for the museums. Away from the more historically interesting side of the city, and there are literally thousands of beer cellars, where you can enjoy some of the local brews. Munich has somewhat of a crazy night life, and it can leave you feeling a little bit drained, but the city is a sleek and beautiful place in which to recover the next day!

Munich is normally a very affordable destination for British tourists, and the cost of living while holidaying there should be fairly cheap. Accommodation is widely available and will also not break the bank. The easiest way to arrive in Munich is to fly, and if you search online for cheap flights Munich then you should be able to track something down which you will be able to easily afford.

Munich is a vibrant city which deserves more of a reputation than it currently enjoys. It is overshadowed by Berlin, but in reality, it offers just as much, if not more in terms of cultural and historical interest.
